Remote consultations
Some skin concerns can be assessed safely by video. Your practitioner will decide whether a remote consultation is suitable for you; if they need to see your skin in person, they will arrange a clinic visit instead.
How it works
- Choose a service marked “Remote available” and book a time.
- Pay any fee or deposit shown when booking.
- A few minutes before your appointment, sign in to your patient portal and press Join consultation. You do not need to install anything on most phones and computers.
- After the consultation, any advice, plan or prescription your practitioner releases to you appears in your portal.
Getting ready
- Find a quiet, private place with good natural light.
- Use a phone or computer with a camera, and a stable internet connection.
- Have a list of the products and medicines you currently use.
- Remove make-up from the area of concern if it is safe to do so.
Privacy
Remote consultations are not recorded. The video link works only for your appointment. Your practitioner may ask you to upload photographs through your portal; these are stored privately and seen only by your care team.
If the call fails
If the connection drops and cannot be restored, your practitioner will call you on the phone number in your profile or rebook the appointment at no extra cost.
Urgent concerns
A remote consultation is not suitable for emergencies. If you have a rapidly spreading rash with fever, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, difficulty breathing, blistering or peeling over large areas, or you feel very unwell, go to the nearest hospital emergency department immediately.
